Welcome!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you enjoy this look into my personal world of color, texture, creation, and engineering. What started out as a hobby, and curiosity years ago, has now developed into a self-satisfying art that enables me to engineer wire, glass, semi-precious stones, and even antique buttons into pieces that are not the norm in jewelry. Thank you for showing interest in our special artwork and designs
that I have enjoyed creating, by hand, for those that enjoy
a different look, an earthy look, heirloom pieces, and trend setting styles.

DTL
Designs is proud to bring you our many diverse products and information.
Nothing matters more to me than the challenge to bring you exciting
pieces that can be handed down from generation to generation. I
not only make my own lampwork beads but I also purchase beads
from famous bead makers throughout the world. I create antique button
lines of jewelry that have valued handcarved pearl buttons from
the late 1800's to early 1900's along with celluloid, brass, glass,
wood, and other material kind of buttons (our main focus is antique black glass, bronze glass, and Czech republic glass buttons). I take special pride in knowing that
when I design my products I use only the finest materials, however,
I look for great bargains so that I can pass that savings on to
you as well. |
The Lampwork featured on this site is none other than my attempt to make beads or glass sculpture with Italian, German, USA, 104 COE and Boro glasses. My interest in creating these beads came about in 2006 when learning to make jewelry.
I truly found it fascinating that one could take a torch, and melt a rod of glass creating swirls, dots, lines, and shapes of glass. The ability to express and create was so vast in the world of Lampworking that I just couldn't resist diving head first into the fragile world of color.
There is nothing more relaxing and rehabilitating than sitting before the woosh of a torch, and its hypnotic flame as you carefully place color upon color, upon clear glass, upon shapes and silver and gold leaf or fine silver wire!

Each
web link has different items we may be offering for sale or informative
articles or writings that we have managed to discover over the years.
I enjoy passing on this information to pique your curiosity. There
is also a schedule of the "shows" where you can meet me, Diane
Poland, in person and see the jewelry choices first hand - even trying
them on. I enjoy meeting those that enjoy my art work and
love to spend time with budding jewelry crafters, fans, or other
valued jewelry artisans. I supports my fellow artists at art
shows and have personally made a commitment to only purchase gifts
that are made by "artists". No gift is more special or
unique than a handmade art piece. Not only are you supporting an
artist that lives here in the US, but you are supporting their suppliers
and many different livelihoods that enrich our economy here in the
States. You become part of a family and usually end up becoming
a customer for life especially with modern technology of the internet. |
Currently we are in the Fall
season. This is a special time when you value your friends and family
with special focus on giving during anniversaries or birthdays, and gearing up for those very special holidays to come. We also welcome
the discerning shopper and hope that you can find something special here for your dear
ones or even a reward for yourself. After all, you work hard and
deserve to celebrate your lives with an artistic piece that helps
frame your face in dazzling color or light. Aren't you worth it?

The items we bring you are one of a kind, and cannot
be duplicated to an exact replica. All jewelry pieces are handmade
with the exception of those featured on the "Novelty page".
Anything created by the artist may not be able to be replaced
in color or materials used due to metal lots, bead colors etc.
If you have a favorite earring that you have lost and want to
replace the missing part of the pair - we may not be able to accomodate
you. Buying a new pair is always advisable. |
| Our prices are the lowest we can possibly charge
- the materials costs drive the majority of our prices with the
exception of those pieces that are extremely time consuming. Artisan
work is the finest that you can buy in the US. You will not only
be buying unique one of a kind pieces, but you will also be purchasing
an idea by one individual that was then developed by hand - not
a machine or a factory some where in a foreign country. Your great
great grandparents purchased special items of this nature in their
day. Not only was quality the prize of the day, but longevity and
time honored uniqueness was also part of that special item purchased.
That's a value you just don't receive in factury-made-in-China items
offered in department stores these days. The value of artisan made
pieces vs factory made just doesn't compare. |
